Square Shaped Pain
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
Square Shaped Pain is a 2D arena fighting game, similar to games like Unreal Tournament where you battle in a small arena. It is very physics based, features abilities to change your playstyle, and a variety of weapons such as spears, rocks, bombs and stuff.
It is local 2 player using the same keyboard, so its the perfect game to enjoy at a party or over Zoom or something.
You can even make your own levels with your own music and backgrounds using the provided Level Editor!
Made in Python using Pygame and Pymunk.
CONTROLS
Player 1: WASD to move, Q to pickup/throw
Player 2: ARROW KEYS to move, RIGHT-SHIFT to pickup/throw
PARRY ABILITY: S/DOWN to parry
DOUBLE JUMP: double tap W/UP to double jump
WINGS: Hold W/UP to fly

Install instructions
Mac: Install and run the app (if it doesn't run, right click and 'Show Package Contents', go to the MacOS folder. Open Terminal and type "chmod a+x " (with the space after it) and then drag the file within the MacOS folder into terminal, then press enter. Now the game should run)
Windows: Extract the zip to wherever and run the exe (preferably make a shortcut to the exe because theres a lot of assets in the folder that you shouldn't touch)
